Nice looking machine.
Is it down here on a demo for a possible Herc replacement?

Yes your correct. Although my thoughts are just a later model of C130 like a J. I was hoping for the purchase of the c17 but according to Wicki has been declined.

Walking through the Wellington terminal there's all these ad's for the Embraer KC-390, and the rumour is that they're there to influence the politicians as they walk through each time

Hah, not so subliminal advertising? :)
That Kwaka looks substantial compared to the Embraer, kinda like a baby C-17 end on, sans a couple of engnes

Yeah the C17 was never really going to be a contender...just too expensive to operate.
The Kwaka would be a good compromise although it is things like supply of spares that is possibly an issue. Nearly every airforce has Hercs so parts would be plentiful especially out in the more remote regions.
