The first brand new Friendship for NAC departed the Netherlands on December 1st, 1960, and arrived in Wellington on the 12th of December 1960.
The delivery route was via Rome, Athens, Damascus, Karachi, Delhi, Calcutta, Bangkok, Zamboonango, Davao, Divak, Darwin, Mount Isa, Brisbane and Norfolk Island.
It was officially named "Kuaka" by Lady Isitt on arrival, and entered service with NAC on 22 December 1960.
ZK-BXA served NAC faithfully for 17 years, and was withdrawn from service at the time of the merger with Air New Zealand in 1978, and its rego cancelled on 18th April 1978.
Interestingly ANZ's Fokker Friendship flight simulator at Auckland International Airport was one of the only ones in the world!

Then … Dec 2 1990 The last Fokker Friendship flight ever to be operated by Air NZ landed in Auckland from New Plymouth
EDIT: The crew on the flight were Capt David Lumsden, F/O Keith Adair and in the jump seat was Peter Buck Senior. He delivered the first F27 to Air NZ.
