What are Airline frequencies used for? e.g. the Air NZ frequency

perhaps pilots radio back to their hub and ask someone at the desk to phone their wife to tell them the flight is running late, can you please pick the kids up from school?

lol seriously, I have heard ANZ using their own frequency to radio the arrival airport and ask for first aid and a wheelchair to be bought to the gate before. Hope this helps.

Was probably used today when my flight from NZAA-NZRO diverted back to NZAA, see more in this forum shortly .

i've heard them discuss last minute gate changes on arrival to NZAA. just a way for pilots to talk to airline ground crew

124.3 is Auckland Approach's frequency, 118.7 is the tower, what is it you are talking about?

It seams on that link that you are only getting 124.3 (AK APP and DEP) not NZAA tower

You can hear planes contacting tower but not the reply so their aerial is obviously not the flashest. Interesting just the same though. ATR diverted to Rotorua before due fog in Hamilton.

actually it seems the Auckland LiveATC scanner is flicking between tower, ground, approach and Air NZ ramp. a bit annoying, makes it hard to follow...
