NZFF

The Skies will be filled with planes over Ashburton over Waitangi weekend Feb 4th to 8th 2015. The fly in is organised by the Aviation Museum and the Sport Aircraft Association. Its normally a great weekend with walkabouts and talkies to the pilots and builders and watching the many programmed flying events. Competitions and awards for the oldest attending home built aircraft and best pre 1960 classic aircraft and many others.
Early aircraft arrivals start on Feb 4th, aircraft judging Feb 6th and possibly Feb 6th and a selection of seminars. If you want to get up close and explore aircraft technos then this is the place to be.

I'll actually be staying in Ashburton Waitangi weekend, doing some renovating for a friend, but I bet I won't have any spare time.... Maybe I'll manage half a day off, worth a try.

Great little spot, I may see if Rick wants to go down on the day with my 7yr Nephew Caleb, since he's a regular here, he has gone plane nuts .. like his uncle 'Me' any chance Ron has brought in some new aircraft types for the museum .... Caleb's fave is the SR-71 .. come to think he want's a drawing off that one.
