$771 million for 8 helicopters. What an absolute joke. Right up there with the 727's, The Canterbury, the Frigates, the LAV's.....and there has to be something else I'm missing.....

YIP .. once you brought em at stupendous prices or get them modified for the extra , throw them into a watery environment and let them sit there for a decade then send them off to Museums ... really not to bright our polycocks in polydicks .

Nothing wrong with the Frigates tho the Australian counterparts are better equipped. weapon wise and faster and different electronics suite.

That's all about to get upgraded. I don't see how they belong in that list (which is contentious enough as it is).

The best way of looking at it is comparing HMNZS Charles Upham to HMNZS Canterbury, Banana carriers .. least the F421 did prove it usefulness tied up in Lyttleton over four years back.

Rather the purpose built littorial warfare ship the turned out to be a right joke, .... maybe the best example of DUMBNESS is the massive A-4 upgrade only to throw them into museums and course the Macchi's, brand new course the break down of the military tech peoples.

"and there has to be something else I'm missing....." Think that about covers that , maybe the Frigates are the only thing salvaged.

As for Wigram ... That's the biggest Joke , New Zealand Aviation history started there.
