Sometimes I do wonder about the serious setups ... I knew off a plane that went poof ! simply disappeared MH something . ......

All the times tracking aircraft , today in Christchurch is Ideal .. but , its the ARBUSTS , today is the eighth I have seen doing a go round landing in a typical N/W day in six months plus earlier to numbers that must double that , can't recall 737s doing that number , should add another recent at the airport , a Jetstar 320 went around again , and I was with Greg months before when a ANZ aircraft did the same , all my plane spotting never seen this with the trusty Boeing ..

Possibly getting predictive windshear alerts?

I assume that their SOP's mandate a go-around when that happens.

I think this is were the Boeing's come into there own with the flying character, the no feel joystick may have its proven Ooophs with the ARBUSTS.

It's nothing to do with the A320 vs 737. Most likely the tightening of SOPs in recent times, or perhaps even just coincidence that you happen to see A320s going around more often than 737s.

As mentioned, it will be most likely be due to a predictive windshear alert, a feature the AirNZ 737's do not have.
Going around is not an indictment on a poor aircraft design or pilot skill, NOT going around when one should have is! One may remember the media reports on a 737 incident in CHCH a few months back, in such an instance a Go-Around would have been far more acceptable than continuing the landing...

On topic however, I am also getting issues with the EAG code in flight aware. EAG101 shows the predicted HLZ-PMR sector but also results for NZ101 on AKL-SYD.....

It would be interesting to see the stat's on the go-rounds after the many years and specific to weather patterns and wind's.
