i think i saw the movie- they simplified it so that the people refuelling it got confused between litres and gallons, thus not putting enough in

I've seen both the movie and the documentary its not a bad movie both pilots did an incredible job bringing that aircraft in. BTW when they lost power was probably a good indication to the passengers that something had gone horribly wrong.
