No, not 'chilly' in Wellington (we're having a rare sunny spell) but the Chilean Air Force, or more correctly the Fuerza Aerea de Chile have been her the last few days.

Spotted parked up near the RNZAF Air Movements Hangar were a late model 737 and a Gulfstream of some description. Hard to get close enough to see exactly what model and I was unable to see any serial on the 737, but I thought they may be interesting to someone...

Also at Wellington, seemingly in long term storage are the JS41s of Origin Pacific. These three (although sometimes there are only one or two of them there?) have been hanging around for months now.

Nice shots Jenks, Raj told me about this arrival just the other day through PM, so it is great to actually see an image of it!

Just out of interest, what is a 737's range? Is it capable of crossing the entire pacific to get to this meeting in the capital, or is there some way of finding out it's flightplan?

if it's anything like the boeing business jets (based on the 738) which have extra fuel tanks, then it has a range of 10,620 km (5,735 nm) according to wikipedia.

For your info it is a Gulfstream 4 and has the construction number of 1089.

Yea, but even then is it ETOPS certified for the Pacific? Maybe they stopped somewhere along the way, like Easter Island or something... :)

Hi Guys, my first post here. The aircraft are the following:
  • Boeing 733QC, Rego = 922
  • Gulfstream IV, Rego = 911

Here is another shot of the G-IV parked in the engine testing bay (not the best due to the sun).

The aircraft came from Cairns in Australia on Monday afternoon, and then departed for Auckland on Tuesday night (quite late). Not sure where they went from there.

Three of the ex Origin JS32s have gone to Air National with a 4th sitting in the old Air Work hanger. These JS41s are playing musical chairs with the old Air Work Hanger, the Air National Hangers and where they are shown in the picture above. Last I saw JSN was missing the prop of one of her engines.

There is another JS41 up at Auckland, sitting out near the Airwork Hanger, also without props... Its quite a sorry sight.

Got to ask Airtrainer - how did you get that pic of the Gulfstream?

Didn't matter where I went, I couldn't get close like that?

Please share if you have found a good posi for photography around that part of Wgtn Airport ;)

I work at the airport so that helps at times to get good pictures. Still your shot of the B737 is still pretty good, from the gate/fenceline on the George Bolt St I guess?

Ah, yes, working at the airport would help :D

Can I ask where you work/who you work for?

And, yes, George Bolt St is about the only place to get a decent look at anything on that side of the airport. Good on them for providing that public access path I say.

Yes that path is good, though i almost drove into the fence poles one night (had been put in during the day). I work for AvSec.
