Well the results are in, pretty happy all round. Was pretty worried about tech but i scrapped through with 78%, stoked i dont have to resit like i was expecting. 84% in Met, 90% in principals of flight and 100% in Nav. Absolutely stoked with my nav result!!! i thought id done well but didnt think i had done that well!!

For sure, i will look thru my practice papers for you and try to remember what kinda questions i had. I can tell you now for sure tho, there will be a question on arc to time, the charts (lamberts conformal, etc), vor/ndb/adf, and twilight or sunrise/sunset. Those are the ones i remember off the top of my head and were mostly free marks, like pretty straight forward questions if you knew your stuff.

Probably just the first 3/4 of the Ross Ewing book should see you right. There should be a practice paper on the ASL website as well.

Yeah... if you have read Ross Ewings book... and can answer the 'review' questions at the end of each chapter without too much hassle, you should be fine. Unfortunately, his book has no practice exam... and they don't really answer the review questions either. You have to read back through the chapter to check your answers.

But the free practice exams on the ASL website should give you a headsup... I would actually download and do all three (PPL, CPL and ATPL) because they are all effectively at the same level and cover pretty much the same material.

Also, something I have found very useful... goto the CAA website and have a read through AC61... I think it is AC61-3 that deals with PPL licensing...

The syllabus for each of the written exam topics is covered in full... this is what they reference in your Knowledge Deficiency Reports (KDRs) when you get your exam results back. If you can walk through the Syllabus and answer most/all of it without too much bother, you'll be sweet!

Good Luck!

Ah yea thats right, was with mcB on that flight. I also remember that full flap thing which was about the same time as the grass seed getting stuck in the carby of JZT (?) just after take off due running up on the grass with carb heat still on. They just scraped round onto the opposite grass (landed G02 I think)
