These are a bit advanced for ab-initio training. The Hawk was one of six aircraft shortlisted to replace the Strikemaster, but its cost and the fact it had a capability which almost exceeded the Skyhawk, meant it was dropped.

Strangely this is one thing I pointed out for a replacement for the Skyhawk keeping Australian/NZ connections and there move into building the type would have made it cheaper for both countries to use Hawk or even lease .. but that is now ten plus years old and even the idea .. well dead.
