Not sure if this is old news or new news, but it is probably good news:

I should not say this ... but after the crap I heard form the idiot Brownlee pre election years back standing on a corner ... less than 30 meters away from my place ,
"An Australian air force C17 is visiting Wellington on Monday and Defence Minister Gerry Brownlee says it's an opportunity to learn more about the aircraft."
For his own personal airlift maybe, I am surprised even they are looking in this direction, an opportunity .. to learn ? like any twit in the government nothing upstairs but their own self appointments and media attention .

It was a showcase for the stopping power off the Globemaster , lest than a third of the runway before turnoff .. but would NZDF budget for the type , it dose have that potential.

Look at it this way, they are still building C-130s, F-16s you can still place an order , still making them ... end off the day, they just scream its all in the big green dollar.

I'm not sure the plan or design of the new war memorial , but must have been a weight , surprised it wasn't simply shipped in instead ... guess a rush job for April 25th.
