what happens is that they stamp your boarding pass with "DOMESTIC PASSENGER ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT". You still have to go through customs (though from memory they just waved us through) and MAF screening, so no South Island apples in Auckland

hmmmm. Next time I'm flying up AA way I might see if I can fix it to catch a 777 or 747 out of CH. Would be good fun I'm sure
