Paraparaumu Airport

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

I was at paraparaumu today for a drivers training course, should I take my camera? Nah, better focus on the days events. WRONG ANSWER!

We had to move through the aero clubs area to the closed part of the runway we used for the driving, so I got to see up close and personal all the 152's and 172's, a Maule (that one blew me away, it looks just like the one in FSX  ) and a few others. I was not a happy chappy, but very happy at the same time if you know what I mean.

The driving was fun, the aviation even better, now to download the images from my brain if I can figure out where I plug the USB cable into my head.

Exactly, when I'm at my dads place I have to drive past the airport to get to work, oh the temptation... :P

Little bird told me today that the owner of Paraparaumu Airport has gifted part of the land to the New Zealand Fire Service to build a brand new Fire Station on dont know where the section of land is or whether or not NZFS have accepted the offer or not.

I get that Wish-I-had-a-camera feeling often. I even saw ZK-TJL (the aeroplane) sitting RIGHT there next to the aero club in Nelson, but alas no camera!!!
