got my roster today and I have got a Police chopper famil flight on 6th march and it looks like a cockpit famil flight somewhere about the 10th and now they have told us that we are going to get some time in the B777 sim!
looks like a good month coming up! I'll post some pics when avail.

cheers

Rare opportunity...
Would you be able to get some 777 panel shots to compare 1 on 1 with available FS panels? Guess you'd have to stitch a panorama together, and get something in there for scale?
I've never been in the front of a 777, but I imagine that everything would be a lot bigger than we are used to on a PC screen. (Even multiscreens)

Just so long as you can concentrate on your job afterwards... (I'm on the 10:45 inbound from London via Hong Hong on the 7th  )

apparently the Famil flight rostered is actually B747 sim time so whether we still are getting the B777 as well or not I will have to find out.

I love in the a320 simulator that u get these computer touch screens to change everything around you, like weather aircraft, failures, airport light just before my brother was about to land i turned on a huge cloud and he crashed :) when i say just before i mean like 10 seconds :)

and can you use auto land on flight sim?

Thats what I thought, but I couldn't figure why an Air Traffic Controller needs to be familier with the police choppers? :P

we get to talk with the pilots and to see their operation up close so that we have an understanding of what they are trying to achieve and how they go about doing it when they ask for certain things, it means that we can explain to them in real time what we are trying to achieve and why we can and cannot do some of the things they would like.

same with the cockpit famil flights we get , we get to see what they do at certain phases of flight or taxi and answer their questions etc.

my last flight was quite a while back on a Qantas b733 cockpit ride CH to AA but didn't have a camera with me.

next time I'll try to be more organised.
