The EASA and the FAA have jointly certified the Rolls Royce powered version of the Airbus A380.

The A380 is the largest aircraft ever to be approved to carry passengers -- a distinction held by Boeing's 747 for the past 36 years.
when you think about it, that's pretty damn spectacular- it's taken 36 years for someone to build something to supersede the 747. a true testament to the outstanding quality of the 747.
