Very sobering sorta show. I didn't need it to tell me what I already knew, tho.


However, despite the doom and gloom , there were some nice Hiller UH-12 and Hughes 300 shots!

My aplogies, that was nothing to do with crop spraying was it?

I turned it over after about 10 minutes, it was quite a sickening show actually.

The TV1 doco about JFK Juniors plane crash a little later was far more interesting, in fact I just recreated his final flight from NYC to Marthas Vineyard on the sim... anyone else watch that show?

I caught the tail end where they decided that his decision to take a short cut acros the water effectively killed him. Very emotive, but IMHO, somewhat misleading.

The fact he was flying with a naff leg, was (relatively) inexperienced, tired + stressed etc probably also had a lot to do with the end result.

I am somewhat surprised that it appears he never attempted to make any radio calls for help. Maybe the typical male attribute of refusing to ask for directions.

They did mention all the other factors - he was late, in experienced, bad leg etc etc, as all contributing to the accident.
What they implied was that if he had not gone accross the sea, he may have still benn able to use the lights on land as a visual horizon, thus may have scraped through.
