Hi all (who run FSX),

The two files in the archive you download will give you a new impression on FSX and how it will no longer be necessary to run FSX with bloom enabled. Try the link below, read the simple instructions and feel free to come back and comment.

This is a dynamical adaptive lighting effect for FSX.
This addon turns on post process engine on your videocard and calculates effects in realtime.

Just downloaded it now- I like it smile.gif

To give you an idea- FSX Bloom uses 7 FPS. This uses none as far as I can tell. The effect is subtle but it definitely improves things!

Been using it for the last few days and would not go back

It takes the cartoon, game feeling and look out of it.

Really worth a try.

Installed this last night and from the brief flight I made it was looking pretty good. Was a tad bright for my liking, but in saying that, it was 2330, so I was a bit past it by then blink.gif

Well, I have to say, I'm not taken by it sad.gif

I do like how it seems to make everything a lot brighter, then darker when your looking at the sun. It does feel a bit more real when you see the silhouette of the aircraft when its in front of the sun. However, its nothing like the FSX normal bloom, which adds lovely lighting effects from bright spots as well as dynamic lighting (although this addon doesn't hit frame rates at all). I don't like how at 3am in the morning, with no moon in the sky, I can still see the hills and mountains all around me almost like its daytime, but just a bit cloudy. I think you can probably change these things and customize it.

Anyway, overall, I think I'm happy as it was. But its certainly worth a try, just add the two files into your FSX folder and delete then if you don't like it, simple! You can always keep it installed and switch it on and off by using SHIFT + F12.

Had a play around with this again on an evening flight this time. Have turned it off for the meantime. It looked okay during a day flight, but when I loaded up the Pacific Blue 737-800 it looked cr@p on the external views. Really made the red look horrible. The red was crimson!

I suspect that could be due to the way I made the specular map - I used a bright pink overlay which creates an interesting glow hehe

The lighting or whatever it is that this does is like CMYK or contrast enhancement this is why the colour goes like that i suppose ...
i like it and will play more to make it work for me ...
