For all you World of AI users...

Just looked on World of AI and it says that an Air New Zealand Link package has been released!

Can't find the file on Avsim yet, but it should be up soon. Good news! Now my New Zealand regional airports might get some action finally!

On an aside, I'm really impressed with World of AI, its completely free and so simple to set up. I only recently installed it, but now I wonder how went all this time with the same boring four fictional airlines. When I could have been flying round with the real ones, and with considerably less lag, but with double the planes. If you don't have WOAI, I really do recommend you get it!

No problem

The package contains the Beech 1900D, the ATR72 and the DH8C, so no Saab, is that good or bad?

Still can't wait to have all those little Beech Links flying round!!!

EDIT: Well, the first problem is already very apparent to me. The Beech, ATR and DH8s are all sitting over at the international stand!, looks really stupid, and the heavies are all pushed out onto the apron stands. I know Auckland has some issues with getting aircraft gates, but not this bad. It wasn't a problem for me with the other package. For a reason unknown to me (but probably well known by many of you on here) the heavies all went to the international terminal, and the 733s and A320s all went to the domestic.

Anyone know why they don't go to the domestic too? and how to change it?

Thanks for the heads-up, I installed it and don't see any of the issues you've mentioned.

I recall before or after I installed Real NZ Auckland, on advice, I installed another version of Auckland Airport on the basis
that it had less "static" aircraft sitting around getting in the way. This definitely reduced the number of aircraft sitting there as "eye
candy" and I wonder if this might be your problem.

Somebody with a better knowledge than me me be able to point you in the right direction.

Interesting blink.gif

So you get the Air New Zealand link planes at the domestic terminal?

Do you have the other Air New Zealand pack (the one with the jets)? And they all go the international gates?

I've been trying different Auckland AFCAD2 files to see if that helps, but I get the feeling its the WOAI traffic pack that is the problem.
I have no idea how the AI traffic packs work, but maybe they have some information contained in the AI plane cfg's that tell the simulator what size aircraft it is. Perhaps they need adding/replacing?

I'll keep working on it!

EDIT: Well I don't know if anyone is actually bothered, seen as well I'm the only one who seems to have had the problem...but...I've fixed it biggrin.gif

I went into the WOAI aircraft.cfgs for the AirLink planes and changed the 'GATE:' section to say GATE: ANZ (I looked at the Gate section from the ANZ 737s). Now all is once again in harmony in my sim world! Pretty easy really!

Glad you got sorted - it's always more rewarding when you manage to nut it out, isn't it?
You are quite right - the AFCAD has a Parking Code associated with each parking space: size and type.
If you open the file with Lee Swordy's AFCAD you can see this.
The same programme has the facility to edit the aircraft.cfg parking code to match, so the aircraft will go there.
Most folk would have been using VOZ AI for this, which is pre-configured.
Good to see a WOAI package for this, they are generally very good quality, thanks for the heads up.

Yeah it feels good. I guess I should be able to fix some things on my own after all these years of flight siming.

With regards to VOZ AI, I've been on their site a few times quite recently, but everytime I go there looking for what it actually is, I never seem to really get it. So its an Australasian Freeware AI traffic package right? And can it work with WOAI, or do you need to choose one or the other?

Hey Slopit I'm using both VOZ AI and WOAI and they all work good but just make shore you don't have double ups of airlines like they do all of air NZ and other airlines that i have all ready so i just remove the flight plans for them.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Dazza.

That's good news - I've recently started using WOAI and I'm very pleased with the results so far.

Thanks for the heads-up on that one. I don't check that site nearly as much as I ought to!

I have to agree - I'm really impressed with WOAI as well.
