If you have read the monthly newsletter, you will realize that this April we will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary of NZFF’s online presence.
Following last years big ‘Forum Field’ airshow, we are planning another online multiplayer event, although this time keeping things low key and simple (as suggested by Jimmy) to cater for a more broader audience of members, hoping to suit a wider range of memembers with different levels of simming skills.
So, this is what will be happening.
LMerraine has kindly let us use his personal server once again to host the FS2004 and FSX compatable multiplayer session that uses the default flight simulator interface in conjunction with FS-Host. (FSXer’s will need to download the FS-Host client here)
The fly in will be to Paraparaumu, utilizing Robin Corn’s excellent freeware scenery, currently available for FSX only but with a FS2004 being uploaded to the windowlight.co.nz website within a matter of days, especially for our fly-in!
The server will be running all weekend, from the evening of Friday 18th, through Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of April, but the main fly-in will be scheduled for 4.00pm on the Saturday.
Because of the quick and simple style of multiplayer flight we have chosen, aircraft will be limited to a select few because each player will need to have the mentioned aircraft installed to view other players correctly. These aircraft will be:
The Warbird- Warrick Carters excellent P51 mustang- download here (13mb)
The Topdresser- Deane's fantastic freeware turbine Fletcher- download here (27mb)
The Vintage- Warrick Carters quality de Havilland Tiger Moth- download here (6mb)
The Eggbeater- Adrian Brausch's Kaman Seasprite, 'sh2gnzv1.zip' from flightsim.com
If you wish to particiape in the event, you will need to download all of the above aircraft and install them, flying only the default paint schemes included with the download.
The server IP address will be posted in this thread closer to the event, in the mean time, make sure you install the above aircraft, and perhaps practice some sort of performance you can show off to the virtual crowd at Paraparaumu later in the month.
Cheers!
