RELEASED NZ Scenery Forest, Buildings + Overlays for X-PLANE

Hi all,

Firstly, hope this is ok to post a new topic rather than append to my previous one re the pending release.

Please note that this is an initial release and some work is still required to perfect it, primarily to do with building textures and some placement of forest on some roads as is expected for a country wide scenery mostly automated scripting. However, I think it is good enough for an initial release for people to experience. If you wish to send me any feedback then you can email me at geosimworks@gmail.com.

Readme.txt inside the zip file with instructions and things to note.

Oh, and I should add, this has been designed for use with Lyndiman's NZ Ortho.

Thanks, Kelvin ... downloading as we speak!!!

For the benefit of others interested in the file, the archive is around 480Mb.

Can it/does it work without the Ortho?

Adam.

EDIT: I've just extracted the readme ... it says:

make sure you get the addon libraries below:

CDB-Library
FF_Library
JB_Library
MisterX_Library
NAPS_library
OpenSceneryX
PuF_Libs
The_Handy_Objects_Library
world-models

Are these all available from one handy place? Or do we need to hunt them down individually?

Hi Adam,

You can get those libraries from xplane.org.

As for the compatibility, I have not tested it on the default terrain, it isn't my intention. It's designed on the ortho as this is what the data matches. By all means try it, I don't understand Xplane scenery enough to tell you if it will work or not. I know prepar3d doesn't work that way.

Cheers!

It should work with any NZ mesh / terrain. It's a priority thing in the .ini file. Those libraries are under the library entry in the scenery downloads on the .org.

I've found some issues in the scenery so I'll be fixing and uploading the fixed areas. If anyone does find major flaws then let me know and I'll see what I can do to resolve.

I've managed to source all the recommended libraries. It took a while as a couple of them appear to have dropped off the radar! So ... to save other people the time, here are the links:

CDB-Library
FF_Library
JB_Library
MisterX_Library
NAPS_library (x-plained) ... NAPS_library
OpenSceneryX
PuF_Libs
The_Handy_Objects_Library
world-models

I haven't had a chance to install anything yet, but will report back here as and when!

Adam.
