I was wondering how you would take this news Ian

One good thing with Airbus is they do pioneer some new features. ROPAS (Runway overun protection system) being one of them.
This automatically and dynamically calculates landing distance versus landing distance available on the fly (no pun intended). At anytime there is a shortfall it issues an aural alert. It also calculates for dry/wet conditions and MEL items. On the ground it also senses distance remaining and issues braking instructions. You can also program it with the taxiway that you would like to exit by.
A clever bit of kit and is a requirement for us for night ops into NZQN.
Ground speed minimum system on approach.
The new A320/321NEOS we are getting will have automatic TCAS avoidance capability when on autopilot (actually this is interesting as the current A320's don't have this feature) It may have to be retrofitted to the older aircraft as it would be a significant risk factor to operate the older and newer types together.
