Central Plateau in the Subscription
Posted: Thu Sep 03, 2015 1:42 pmI know there's been a bit of interest in this part of the country, so the three volcanoes are now included in the Subscription. You can now fly from Rotorua to Waiouru within the photo scenery area, or for a spot of top-dressing, check out Taumarunui!

Generally I try not to release 'hard winter' areas like the Plateau during winter, as the summer-only photo scenery doesn't blend well with the surrounding landclass textures, so just be aware that if you do want to fly around here, set the season to anything but winter otherwise the transition will stick out.
If you have FTX NZNI, the installer will skip the little NZTM airfield, but if you want to replace the FTX version then just ask me, and I'll post a recipe. However the FTX version is good, and doesn't require having to fix the usual Orbx elevation changes.
This scenery does include Waiouru, but no customisation at the moment. You can use Doug and Ian's Waiouru if you want, but it isn't required. Note that if you do have their version installed, the surrounding forestry areas won't have matching vegetation, but this is just the difference in the way the two area handle forests.
You can still purchase a subscription, and you are encouraged to do so:) And for those who are interested, yes the NZFF coupon is still valid, at least for the next week or two...
