Good reviews so far and working well with the just released Geforce 347.52 driver (although STILL not optimised for P3D).
A full download and install though :(
Unless you are a pioneer then it may pay to wait a little while so that some 3rd party vendors can get their products to work as intended.

The P3D appears to be outta the ball game in many areas, its either STEAM or P3D .. going to be interesting who takes the charge.

P3D is going from strength to strength with each update. Some help from Nvidia with video drivers would be a bonus though. LM are also working progressively towards a 64 bit upgrade which will really be a game changer.
FSX, even the SE version, is dated code and I can't see it going any further than it is. As add ons get more complex OOM errors due to poor VAS utilisation will only get worse.

If it is P3D you are referring to Ian there was an initial cost for version 1 and then upgrades were free up until the release of 2.0. The updates have been free from then on.
At US$45 it is not really a great cost......much less than the US$90 (until March then $135) PMDG want to charge for a 777 which required virtually nothing altered to get it to run in P3D.
There are those that are still quite happy with 1.4.

:hesaid:

I think it's telling that LM developed Microsoft's ESP source code for two years before P3D was even released, and that was version 1. Version 2 is light years ahead of FSX in any iteration. I still have FSX (and FSX-SE) but once you're used to flying in P3D, there really is no going back.

It will be a change for the better, I have seen the difference in a PAC-737 NG simulator and it was impressive.

I'm very tempted to switch, but I think I may wait until the 64 bit version is released.
