To tell the truth I'm only mildly advanced Charl, so don't put yourself down too much. I can only fly Boeings or Beech.
Realistic Airbus, or McD Doug, or ATR, or DeHavilland skills all elude me. So I cheat with freeware versions for them. But as for throwing a plane around the sky for 10 minutes before landing where I took off, no, that sort of thing isn't for me

That's certainly authentic flying all the same (yay for flightsim freedom!)
Dean, I've watched plenty of PMDG videos on youtube, and seen a million screenshots, but I've mostly just not yet got around to it. I save some money, and then decide to get something else (most recently
Elite Dangerous, but then, that's another topic)
Most off putting with PMDG, is the cost in order to get a full package from 600-900, and because I already have a perfectly good 737 fleet with the ifly. Ifly comes with a BBJ model as well, and for me, given the 700 series BBJ is my favourite jet, ifly win the race for my choice. The ifly is highly functional, extremely well supported, has an excellent model, heaps of features and options to activate or deactivate. I believe the PMDG looks better in VC and model, and would be voted by the majority to be the best 737 EVER released for flightsim, but that's not to say that the ifly isn't a fantastic plane in it's own right. Because it is. In the last four years 25% of my flying has been done in an ifly 737 (a little over 250 flights)
Sorry, back to the 747!
