Hi, guys!

I think this remarkable piece of aviation history might be of interest:

FSX version:

I've bought it - I love it!

Does anyone know the story behind her stay at New Zealand?

Cheers,
Markus.

Hey Markus, not sure about the model L12 but the L10s were used here by what was Union Airways in the late 1930s, see the following for details:

QUOTE
Eight aircraft eventually operated in New Zealand - seven for Union Airways/NAC and one for Trans Island Airways. ZK-AFD made the last commercial flight for NAC on May 20, 1950. The NAC Electras were replaced by larger capacity ex-military Lodestars and DC-3s.[/quote]

This model looks nice, but there's also another L10 in development by Vitus which looks even better, see the following:

It is Pat Donovans..an American who lived here for a while (he also bought in a Polikarpov PO-2 and a Galeb jet trainer IIRC). It was based at Omaka. Now gone back to the US.

BTW there is a Electra 10 been restored to flying condition in NZ. I have to say that Im looking forward to the Vitus Electra 10

More info here on the Electra 12

Now that's not too hard to comprehend...

Vitus' L 10 sure looks great too, but if I got it right, she'll be FSX only.

@ Paul:
Thanks a lot for this photo and the link!
It must have been a quite interesting ferry flight back to the US. I wonder which route she took?
Midway or the Aleutians?

Cheers,
Markus.
