A Spaghetti masterpiece for those of us that like the offbeat with nice systems modelling and older style avionics / AP's.
There is an FSX version available too.

Available at AVSIM file name: fs9_808v21.zip

Description:
This is a complete simulation of the Piaggio PD-808. It includes advanced engine management, realistic systems, and some failure modeling. The model features a complete 3-D virtual cockpit, and a 2-D panel. Sounds are inculded. The external model features all typical animations plus a load of custom ones. Also incluides all custom special effects, including different selectable floodlights for the virtual cockpit (by simply flicking ON the proper light switch on the cockpit itself). Plus with a fly-on-the-numbers flight dynamics file. Includes full documentation. THIS IS THE FS-2004 RELEASE. IT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH FS-X. THERE IS ALSO A FS-X RELEASE THAT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH FS-2004.
V2.1 brings improved virtual cockpit performance, advanced sound effects, advanced fuel systems simulation (a component requires FSUIPC), some operational procedure corrections and minor bug fixes. V2.1 package includes all versions (RM, GE, TA, TP, Civil)

Piaggio certainly does do "a little different" (I have the payware Avanti, too)
Look at that furrowed brow!
And what's dangling off the nosewheel??

There's a gauge that crashed my sim: dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau
I removed it and everything seems to work OK in FS9.

The VC is not really up to the standard of the best FSX offerings.
But it's a pilot's plane, and in FS9 I look forward to some interesting flights with it.

Externally she look pretty snazzy tho .. the muck on the nose wheel is proof they landed it here in Christchurch ... called Liquidfication unsure.gif

That cockpit is obviously designed with the larger pilot in mind smile.gif
It flies very nicely and has some nice features such as the dynamic checklist.

Tis a nice bird.

NB: If in doubt, consult the flight manual! Spent ages trying to figure something when a 30 second read gave the answer!

From reading up on it, the exec-jet world would be flying very differently today if it hadn't been delayed coming to market.

Splash deflector, according to the author, those pods so nicely recessed into the fuselage suck debris.

Completely off topic, but where is the airport in the last shot? unsure.gif
