Hi, guys!

I've been keen on their Bush-C185 for a while, always waiting for a sale like this...:
http://www.carenado.com/ecommerce/index.php3

Just purchased it, now look at this amazing beauty:

As far as I can see (coming back from my first short test hop above Skagway, Alaska), the only thing I could improve about this grace is giving her a decent 2D panel utilizing a screenshot of her awesome VC.
Sorry: I simply can't help fiddling on my aircraft - even though they seem to be just perfect...

But wait - look what I've found: ohmy.gif

She screams: "Repaint me!", doesn't she? rolleyes.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

Just had a look at the C185F for FSX, it is still $25US, how much was it originally?

Now there's no way in the world I was going to buy that one - until you mentioned the Mt Cook paint!
I have a very nice Porter in MC colours already.
Ah what the heck, even if you don't get round to painting it, at $9.50 the price is right...

Everybody's having a sale!
At this rate the hangar will need to have mothballing facilities installed, there'll be no time to get to them all.

Wonder if a FS9 repaint is transferrable to FSX?

As far as I can see by now (after getting the blank templates which already include seperate bumpmap and specular files), the FS9 and FSX models share the same texture mapping, Naki....

Ah yes, I can see it already, in my mind's eye...

Which to do?
Peter Lohr has snaffled CBS and BKG, and less obviously, BYJ, for his statics.

Well, I think MCV would be a suitable candidate:

MDB in its older livery (with the fin lily still applied) looks nice too:

but this is a "A" series Skywagon. Besides the additional air intake of the F model, I can't spot any significant difference...

Maybe both? unsure.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

MCV on its way:

Nice gathering at Mount Cook airstrip, eh?

Heck! These are incredible crispy textures to work with...

Cheers,
Markus.

Now you are teasing...
The Porter from the same era has the lily, would be nice to complete the fleet.

Tim Conrad did a nice PC-6 porter's, for FSX though

Grandpappy of Porters is still the FSD model, half a dozen years on, works in FSX too.
MCT is also one of those, and I have dug it out again.

Thanks for your comments, guys!

The prop just received its white stripes (including some torn off colour at the prop blade's leading edges due to some rough runway conditions...):

Here's a bummer:
Tried to get the "CESSNA" letters on the wing tips, but it got smeared. Think I'll skip that.

Antiglare coating on the cowl's top is completed, now I'm heading to Tasman Glacier for a few final testing spins...

Should be finished soon...

Cheers,
Markus.

That would be a shame to lose... maybe nudge it up, just a pixel?

You're right, Charl!

I think it's okay this far...:

Perfect.
Wouldn't be the same if you couldn't read what you're flying, in spot view.
I'm quite looking forward to this one, hope you can achieve something with the 2d panel.

Thanks, mate!

I think it's time for packing her.

What's with the FSX users?
As the bumpmap and spec files are included within the blank templates and texture mapping obviously is the same, I'd also love to release a dedicated FSX repaint (just some flipping of the textures needed).
Is there any of the FSX-model owners willing to test the paint on the FSX model?

Cheers,
Markus.

YES! I'll give her a try-out! thumbup1.gif I'm sure it'll be a popular repaint for FSX users as well. This is for the payware Carenado C-18F (Bush/Ski), right?
