If your a Plan-G user then you'll be happy to know that v2.0 has been released for free download and now can import KML files (google earth). As Oz X and orbx create KML files for all there scenery it will never be easier to find your way around.

Thanks, I've been using this since I discovered it a few months ago. Unlike alot of software it doesn't scream out at you there is an update available.
I just love this addon.

I fly alot in new places and pretty much always end up in that proverbial place called wherethefarcarwee. Not any more!
This solves the problem perfectly.
Place names are pretty absent in FS and if you don't have a detailed map of everywhere you want to fly you will always only be somewhere between 2 airfields.

And free to boot! I've been wanting something like this for years.

Yep its all i use for flight planning now as well. Its a petty its not like G earth where you can turn on the elevation and look around in a 1st person perspective. It always helps to know what terrain your flying over esecialy if your going in under the radar.
Perhaps they should develop it as a pluggin to google earth rather than the other way around. You can also have the map running on a networked machine. My ipod comes to mind. I wonder...
