Here in Japan I get 100Mbps up and down with no cap, for about $NZ80 a month. Thinking about going back to NZ (I'm a kiwi), but I need the Internet for my business, and am not sure if the infrastructure there is up to it yet...

Well when you come back be sure to look for a residence right next door to the local telephone exchange....even then you will be disappointed.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

I've had 3 months of trouble with my phone line. At one stage I asked them about switching to another exchange, in case the distance to it was shorter - so I asked them the physical location of their exchanges in the area. They said **they did not know**. After 3 months' grief I wish I could find that funny.
