Hi all,
It is coming up to the time of year where the NZFF website hosting plan will expire, and we will need to pay for another year’s worth of fees to keep the forums online.

This is quite an expensive process, seeing as we have decided to once again change our service provider for increased disk space and bandwidth (which means that yes, NZFF will be officially closed for a few days in June while all the data is transferred over, although the off-topic section will remain open for the hard core forum junkies!). We also need to pay for the renewal of the NZFF.org domain, as well as the actual ‘labor’ involved with the transfer itself- all up it coming to around $300NZ.

On a secondary note, I will be leaving the country for the last half of the year to travel around Europe, passing the technical side of things back to Alex who was co-administrator with myself and Robin last year. He will continue to run things behind the scenes and look after NZFF while I am away from July onwards which will be a great help.

So far, out of own pockets, the administrators have put forward quite a large sum towards the fees for next year. We are hoping that once again, loyal NZFF members can help us out by donating small amounts towards the cause to contribute towards the payment of the remaining fee, as was so generously achieved last year.

To do this, Robin has set up a donation page on the Windowlight Online Store, where if you feel you can do so, you can make a small payment via credit card, bank transfer, cheque or Paypal. You can find out more details about making these donations in this topic here.

I would like to make it very clear that in no way is the donation mandatory, NZFF will always remain a free to access website (as far as I can help it), and we only ask you to send in a donation if you feel comfortable with doing so- however, we plan to commemorate members who do make a donation- you can choose how we display your name, either via your forum username, your full or first name, or you can choose to stay 'anonymous' if you wish. Robin will be in contact all donators to arrange this in the future.

Finally, I’d like to thank all of the members who have contributed to NZFF so far, growing the website from a mere empty template into the giant success it is today. We have grown so big in the two years we have existed online, that we have no other option than to continue expanding, and I’m sure things will only get bigger and better from now on!

Cheers,
Trolly and the NZFF Admin Team
