Kingsford Smith, Ulm and two American crew members landed in Brisbane to complete the first East-West crossing of the Pacific by air.
The flight time for the crossing was 83 hrs 19 min. They flew down to Sydney next day.
These days the planes are a bit faster but what with modern contrivances like finding luggage and clearing Customs, the journey seems to take about the same
