Young Nick ...great post.
Those rock formations could be in Alaska.....
I love this stuff mate...keep it coming when you can.
Next time your down this way, I won't be unwell...and will have a bed space for you. Not sure if I have enough space for a 500 on the drive, but there is a nice sized park down the street.

Anyway, appreciate the updates and insights, stay and fly safe.

Loving these photos, almost like being there! I'll have to share them with Dad next time I see him.

Probably time for an update, it's been a couple of tours.

Did just over a month of geophysical survey in Borneo. Based out of Kotabaru.

Part of survey package

Flying out to the job

Back in Wamena where classic 737s are king...

Image
... and some 300 series

Image
I need to get a proper camera

Image
Extracting people from a repeater tower as the weather closes in

Image
More early morning tower work

Image
Weather at the tower was garbage so I was an enthusiast for the day

Image

Image
Got up to the tower the next day. 11000ft. My highest landing to date.

Image
They just cut down the old tower and built a new one...

Between two helicopters, we shifted 20 people and probably 3000kg of cargo.

Gassing up to head home.

Aviation at work, these are good snippets...
Matter of interest, what kind of load could you manage at 11,000 ft?

When I got over there, I had 300lbs of fuel on board and I took two guys with their gear up there... about 250kg. As the fuel burned off, I ended up being able to take a little over 300kg of gear
