I have a large bulky, noisy computer that takes up to much space. So I thought why not rebuild the computer into a desk.
So bought a cheap mahogany bureau desk off trademe for $20.00 and set to work and this is what I have come up with.

Main Mother Board, power supply x2 hard drives are in the top draw

Sub in main cabinet, also with top draw closed you can see on/off switches usb ports and x2 fans moving cool air directly onto motherboard

Business end at rear, also hot air is effectively channeled out.

Set up so far with every thing together(taking up a lot less room)

Still looking for a LCD screen to fit inside bureau desk so set up can be completely closed up and locked inside desk
Did need to put a external DVD drive on top of desk which has proved quite useful as I can turn off when not in use.
Overall new system installed in desk is a lot more quieter and main temperature is down on average by 15 degrees. Also easy to maintain and clean out dust by just opening the draw biggrin.gif
Just need to sand desk down to bring out that nice mahogany finish.

Unfortunately this project did take a day out of my flight simming plane.gif

I love this.
Mods like this, when they are well done, look brilliant and it seems to me they really save space and clutter.

Awesome KP - great idea - I must learn more about PC hardware so I can build my own PC next time - how are you going to get this to the next NZFF meet?

If I have sorted out a LCD screen I guess I can just put it on the back of the ute its not that big or heavy.

I don't know that much about PC hardware, just had to remember which bit went where when I took it all apart and put it together. blink.gif

(The wife was not impressed when she came home to find the computer in bits all over the dinner table, she said if I brake anything or it didn't work i was not allowed to get a tech in to fix it. ohmy.gif )
