my laptop, being the super machine it is, always seemed to overheat. That is until I saw a mod on the internet which involved pulling it apart and glueing a hunk of copper into the video card. Good news. It worked perfectly!

Before: I could play need for speed most wanted for about 20 minutes before GPU would overheat (reaching 100 degress C) , causing the computer to slow right down, playing that game at 2 FPS

After: Been playing for 3 hours straight, and the GPU hasnt gone over 80!!

sounds like a great mod. i can hear my CPU straining sometimes, simply due to dust clogging the heatsink

just out of interest, what surface are you using the laptop on? maybe you should lift it slightly so air can circulate better under the laptop.

if you're really desperate for cooling, something like this could be useful (haven't tried it, so can't recommend it or the seller)

sorry for the slow reply :)
the surface I am using it on would be a regular chopping board the same size as the laptop!
crappy, I know but it does the job.

I wonder if that cooling pad would work because it would be blowing air up through the laptop, whereas the fans in the computer are trying to force air downwards
