'line shimmer?'

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Decided I'd do some flying for a change, but my settings have changed somehow. It's hard to describe, but the best way I can put it is line shimmering. Basically, thin lines on FS shimmer and are all jaggy, I can't remember having this problem the last time I fired up FS, and I can't see the same problem in anyone screenshots.

Anyone have any ideas on what caused this? Or how I can fix it? After a while it actually starts to give me a headache unsure.gif

If you turn up anti-aliasing (either on your graphics card or in FS- doing it in FS works best for me) it should eliminate that.

Also, try turning down mipmap settings.

Actually I should have mentioned this, it seems to be mainly the textures that have the problem, taxiways/runway marking/custom trees/smaller text and details on aircraft etc. AA is already at 4x, any higher and I lose about 10fps, and mip settings ia at 4, where it's always been. I'm thinking maybe, new drivers and a new fs9.cfg file is my next option.

EDIT: Downloaded and installed the new nvidia drivers (finally), and redone my settings in nhancer...Hasn't fixed the problem, but has made it heaps better, just a tiny shimmer, but hardly noticible. Only one airport still has a pretty bad shimmer though, guess I'll have to live with it.
