Good board, but if you're going Nvidia, then this does not support SLI (2 indentical Nvidia cards hooked up together), it supports Crossfire (2 ATI cards hooked up together). So this will only affect you if you're going SLI down the track.

at the moment i cannot see any real benefit of running SLI, it would seem that that coul be a few years away from being used by FS properly. i was going to bit the bullet and go for vista (xp man for the last while). from what i have read is that the Q9300 is limited in OCing, where as the Q6600 can go quite abit further, not that i willl be doing much if any OCing. the Q6600 is quite abit cheaper though
I am going to be running FSX, although fs9 might sneak its way onto it, well at least until FSpassengersX is released, then it is FSX all the way!!!

Right now, I would seriously be considering the ATI HD48x0's... the 4850's are only $300 and are kicking some serious arse... the 4870's are even better but running at around $500 at the moment...
2x HD4850's in crossfire, are cheaper than the GTX260/GTX280's... but perform as good or better in some cases...

Yer the 4850 is an excellent card for the price. Better bang for buck than say the 8800GT and probably the 9600GT.
Between the Q6600 and Q9300 my pick would be the Q6600, but that's because of it's excellent overclocking ability and also cheaper price compared to the 45nm versions.
SLI/Crossfire are all very well, but I think you're right about there not being much benefit for FS. I'd go for a single better card than two mid-range cards for FS personally.
Everything else looks good although I second the comment about needing a 64bit OS for 4 gigs+ of ram.

i have to agree with everyone else on the sli thing. For fs you wont see any benefit from dual cards. Change the video card to something a little beefier and youve got a killer system.
