Interested to hear from others what screen resolution they are using for FSX. I have a new screen with a maximum resolution of 1920 but this is hard on frame rates so about 1620 seems to be the comfortable maximum. I am using a Nvidia 8600GT graphics card on a 2.2ghz dual core machine, with 4GB of RAM, but 1920 resolution seems to really tax the system.

Wondering if anybody else is using a similar spec. computer at a 1920 resolution. Fantastic quality when you can use 1920, but frame rates may decide the issue.

Comments please!!!

Smooth landings.

Yeah i have a 8600GTS 256mb and run dual monitors, 1 at 1440X900 in window mode not full screen ,and one for gauges and nav at 1024X768, i use Nhancer aswell that helps heaps by changing the profile ,
im only 3.0htz ht P4 / 2gb ram / and this computer runs FSX like a dream no bottle necks ,if i was to get a dual core it would only be higher than 3.0ghz X 3.0ghz or id be wasting my time ...
hope this is helpful

Thanks for your reply. I also have the Nhancer program running as well, but it is interesting to read that you operate at a lower resolution still. Perhaps the Nvidia 8600GT card just does not have enough grunt to run FSX at a higher resolution. All ok at a lower resolution but it would be nice to use the full 1920 res. if possible.

Smooth landings.

Cool cool ive just read somewhere you just run it at the full res of your screen size for best performance ,so my screen is 1440X900 19inch i think and works sweet no problems ,they also say its best to run fullscreen mode ,but i find that crappier them the window mode i fly in ,
plus if i do run full screen my other one goes black anyway and i cant see all the other TS / gps / and autopilot windows i have running on the second monitor ..
glad ive been helpful alittle today laugh.gif
