I was having trouble with display and let FS9 renew .cfg but now I don't get the "Release Brakes" sign.
Any clues what I may have done or how to rectify the problem?. Brakes still work both from joystick and keyboard.

Hi Pato,

I just had a similar problem but with no ATC sound. I think the best option is to just re-install FS9. Thats what i did and it still keeps your scenery and other addons.

Good luck.

Can I just re-install FS9 over the top otherwise it wouldn't keep scenery etc?.

Hold fire, you might not need a reinstall :S

Try this first in your FS9 config:

Add the following line to the [SIM] section of the fs9.cfg file:
show_brake_message=1

This is the way to make it stop showing, but try adding that line and changing the number from 0 to 1. Then see what happens.

Info found here:

http://www.flightsimulatorguide.com/guides.htm

Edit: Changed it to read as you should add it. Sorry can't promise this will work :S

Are you sure it doesn't appear -- or is it just off-screen? You might just need to centre the screen on your monitor.

Thanks. I will give that a go. Had a look at that site which quite interesting. They wanted to get rid of the Brake message LOL.

Unfortunately that screen is ok. Was worth a look. Thanks.

That line "show_brake_message=0" does not appear in my .cfg file.

Oh dear!! Your are right. I certainly didn't read that correctly. Thanks for pointing it out. I will have another go at it.
Appreciate the suggestions but it didn't work. I guess it is no great loss not having the "brakes and simulation paused' messages

TBH I prefer not having them there :D
