Afternoon.
We moved to Telstra a while ago (just before Christmas) and so far have had good experience with them, I'm happy with the 50kbs on avg I get from US sites, it's half the speed I got with Xtra, but at least it doesn't cut off every 5 minutes. The speed isn't my problem though, it's something else which might be hard to explain.
On some sites, it won't properly 'update' them is as best as I can put it. KDSR, Rfactorcentral and Bf1942files are the main sites that I get annoyed when it does it. Say I posted a comment on Bf1942files, the page will refresh, sometimes show my comment, but most of the time it won't. The comment actually has posted, but for some reason won't show up. It's not just comments, it's the whole site. Say I went on there today, I'd have the latest news etc, I could go on tomorrow, when it has updated with new news etc, but for me it would still show the old news, it'll do this for a couple of days even weeks, until it will eventually 'update' and show me all the news I missed, which is old news by then.
I'm almost certain it's not a problem at my end, but at Telstra's end. I've done countless reformats, new drivers, updated everything, and have had another modem sent to us from Telstra as they thought it might have been a problem with that. Still nothing has been able to fix it. I had a 'cut off' problem with Xtra for a while, where the net would drop out every 30 seconds-2 minutes, nothing we did fixed it, but when Xtra done something it stopped dropping out. That's what makes me think Telstra might have something to do with this.
Has anyone had similar experience like this? It's hard to explain it, but should be fairly easy to ecognise for someone who has experienced it. Any suggestions? Or should I give Telstra a call and explain it the best I can?
Thanks.
