Finally got everything reloaded with all the add ons, all the settings finally right with FS, graphics card settings done etc and now it refuses to load the scenery when I chose a flight. I am fed up with fiddling and no flying so that is it for me.

Had enough - I have spent two weeks mucking around to get nowhere.

Don't give up mate - I'm sure Lawrie or I could help in some way (although I'm sure my PC has forgotten what FS is). Tell us more about what you are getting as far as error messages go. Is your new system XP or Vista?

Thanks Mat - I actually popped in to see you at work yesterday at about 5 pm but you had left. When I go to load a flight it comes up to the loading icon and its stuck at scenery loading - it just dosen't want to load for some reason.

I also want to get rid of VOZ scenery (yes I know I shouldn't of loaded it in the first place but thats another storey) but bits of it seem to linger FS.

Have you got a new firewall loaded on your PC that is not allowing FS to run as an application?

I really wish I could help you out more mate, I know how frustrating it can be!

When you say that it is stuck on scenery loading, has the program freezed requiring a restart or is it just taking a longer time than usual to load. Is there an error message in the "event viewer"? If the program has frozen and if you have enough disk space I would install an additional copy of FS without addons and try again. I have an additional copy on my harddrive which I use to test addons.
The problem must be fixable.

Thanks guys - not so disastorous after all - it seems the graphics drivers dropped out (I am not sure how that happened) - I just reloaded the latest drivers and all is fine - hopefully they don't drop out again.

Edit: Instead of splurting off in my first post of should of slept on it as I usually wake up the next morning with the solution when it comes to PC problems - this morning I woke up and I immediately knew what the solution was - maybe my mind does not work so well late at night!

Naki and fellow dudes this gives me an opportunity to show how stupid I am, does anyone know how app settings for NVidia cards kick in? I have set fs9 with all my required antiliasing settings etc but they dont kinck in in game!!!!!!

Naki I had a similar prob to you (in fact in Vista the system gives yu a nice little message when it hangs allowing you to shut prog down or look for solution) and what I found was I had loaded up alot of addon scenery before I loaded svce pack 9.1 so when I re installed I put 9.1 on first and everything was fine.

Aha - yes I was not going to mention here what on how I solved the antiliasing problem as I felt so stupid  - after trying heaps of diffrent things (& time) I simply ticked antiliasing in FS (which is not what I had to do with my Radeon X800) and whalla all was fixed (yet another sleep on it and came up with the solution the next morning ) Do you have it ticked in FS?

Yes I thought I may not of loaded the FS 9 service pack but it must of being the first thing I did and it was all there.

Whew that was a stressful moment.
Imagine Naki trashing the computer and taking up golf!
Wouldn't be the same...
Just to confirm, yes, the 8-series Nvidia wants anti-aliasing ticked in the sim.

yes I have ticked it but in theory (well in the NVidia menu) you can tell the card to override the applications settings as the AA in fs9 only allows it to go up to 4x and my card is capable of 32x?
