HI all. Firstly sorry for the cross postings for everyone who reads the same forums as me, but I'm looking for the highest number of opinions in the shortest space of time!

I have a question for the Tech Savvy amongst us.

I currently operate my Flightsim machine with 2x PCI-E video cards on a Motherboard that has the two PCI-E slots and use three monitors. I know I'm greedy.

I've just ordered some new PCI-E video cards to replace my current two 128 DDR2 ones. They are 7600GT 256MB DDR3 cards.

I never did SLI the old ones and am wondering that while I have the cover off to install my brand spankers whether or not I should SLI them?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of SLI?

If I SLI, would this still mean I can use all four monitor outputs for four different monitors (three at present but who knows!) and have an expanded desktop, or does SLI simply mean double the video processing power and an inability to use more than two monitors?

Any help, suggestions, comments or warnings greatly appreciated.

Mark

As far as i know and have seen on a friends puter you can then run the 4 outputs with the SLI config ,if that helps , but ive never done it myself , i did own a 7600gt ddr3 and would say that is a really good card ..
if it doesnt work ,just change it back to the way you know that works

Thanks Mike

All the reading I have done and all the advice I have received since posting is not to SLI if I want multi-monitor support. Thanks for your comments.

As far as I remember you can only use the outputs on one of the cards when they're in SLI mode
