Can someone who understands what each of these settings mean explain them to me please?
I am a little confused with what does what, and want to get the best out my system

I downloaded something (from AVSim I think) that had screenies with writing on it to explain each setting. I'll look for it. In the meantime the link below has a good overall cfg explanation:

If you go to the fs9 "learning center" youl find detailed things of what each slider does.

Yeah sure trolly, here you are:
Special effects: Not exactly sure, but probably things like contrails and tire smoke.
Terrain Mesh Complexity: Changes the complexity of any meshes installed. Lower settings will make the mesh more "round", and more like the default scenery. You could say that lower settings would make it look like a 75m mesh while higher settings would make it look like 20m (that is, if you had 20m installed)
Terrain texture size: The resolution of the ground textures. Higher settings have larger images as the textures, which uses more RAM.
Terrain detail: No idea
Water effects: Not sure, probably just makes your water look better

It even has little pictures explaing what they all do excacly.
