MSFS 2020 won't even start (mini-rant)
Posted: Thu Jan 13, 2022 7:00 pmWell, I bought MSFS on Steam so many weeks ago I can't even remember when.
I've lost interest in ARK (finally! at least for now!) so I though, hey why don't I load flight sim and see what it is like (even though I have no joystick, pedals, or any of my other hardware attached).
Loaded it and it asked me to logon, so I dug out my account details from my vault and whopped them in there. Auth seemed ok, but got a CDT when looking at that beautiful Porter.
Tried again, no auth this time, but a dialog about last failed start and do I want normal or safe mode - either way, CTD.
Updated Nvidia driver to latest.
Applied latest Windows build 21H2 and updates.
Same.
Currently have a case in with Support.
After all this time and I can't even start it, let alone look at it or play it.
I wonder how many hours of my life I have spent trying to get a flight simulator working!
I guess I may not be simming for a while yet - makes my computer somewhat redundant right now - I even went back to play Raid on Bungling Bay on my C64 emulator with an old digital Zipstick (remember those?!).
