From Jaykae on the VOZ Forums:
Microsoft has released the .NET Framework 3.0, after thorough testing on my system ( I get a solid 70-80FPS to begin with on my AlienWare) I can report a 10-15% OVERALL increase of FPS. Make sure you UNINSTALL .NET Framework 1.1 after you install 3.0, don't worry it is fine and will not affect the switcher if that is what you are worried about.

>>DOWNLOAD HERE<<

Enjoy guys and let me know your feedback, there has been reports from people that get up to as much as 40% (!) more FPS.

first: install the 3.0 .Net framework and reboot

second: un-install the 1.1 .Net framework and NOT the 2.0 .Net Framework !!

third: get Regvac HERE and install it

fourth: run Regvac in NOVICE mode !! (you'd be amazed what it cleans out)

fifth: DEFRAG !!

will look that yer system got a lil rocket build in somewhere (still looking haven't found it yet, the lil rocket that is :D )

The Regvac tool is a trail for 30 days but it will do the work ;)

O yes I fell for this..

DON'T USE REGVAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got no fps incress useing 3.0, I would give it anothor go but I can't even instal 1.0 coz my windows install is "ungenuine".. So no voz switch for me eathier (not that I use voz coz how can anyone expect to get good perforamce when they put soo many diffierant works from so many differant developers into one country..)

funny that its the voz fourms who come up with all this perforamce improvemt ideas, they must realise what a fps killer there scenery is..

It worked fine for me, I have .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0, plus .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3 Developer, and .NET Compact Framework 2.0

Jimmy, does ur system meet all the minimum specs (in above post) including having Service Pack 2 for Windows XP?

of course it does mathew, I just can't install it any more cos of the ridiculous ms windows liscence validator, I have a "ungenuine" windows install ;)

Well, use regvac at ya own risk, messing with the reg can be a risky operation. Id rather leave the dam thing alone!

Howdy,

Jimmy, check to see if RegVac has created a backup folder (probably named Undo, BackUps, et cetera); inside you should find all the Registry enteries the programme has changed.

If so, you can easily revert your system Registry to what it was before RegVac stuffed things up.

I didn't think you could install service pack 2 if your system isn't genuine ... ?

Youy can easily back up your registry using the regedit command then back up. Save it on another PC, disc or usb key as well :)

I'll give it a go tonight - as always I do a manual system restore point to revert to if it turns belly up.

Bear in mind it is an overall difference you get, not instantanious. When flying in crowded CBD's near busy airports, you're bound to still get lower FPS, but for me, flying out in the wilderness with only autogen trees and mesh in my view, I get smoother frames than before hand, and not just in one location, all over my FS world. It makes more of a differnece on a low end system than a high end system I expect :)
