I have installed FSX-SE Win10, and am now wondering if I can just copy my Win7 backups over to it.? Win7 being 32bit and Win10 64bit is this possible.?

This would save a lot of work but I have a feeling that I may strike some problems. What do you guys think please.

Straight thru never had an issue, scenery or aircraft, Example: looking at old Invercargill scenery ... simply plopped into place that dated back 11 years ago , aircraft fall into place good as gold.

Yes, provided you are not trying to copy any integral part of FSX, addons shouldn't have problems. FSX is 32 bit, so the OS won't make any difference to addons.

Thanks.

If possible, can you elaborate on integral part please. At present all I have is FSX-se installed. I presume I can copy, say, all my backup scenery and aircraft to SE scenery and aircraft etc.

I guess that would answer my post. Perhaps toprob will explain further
when he gets time.

As I wasn't sure exactly what you'd backed up, I just wanted to make sure that it was only addons you were talking about, rather than anything which FSX needs to work properly. Since it obviously was, then there shouldn't be a problem. Ian was essentially right, even though his solution was just do it and if it doesn't cock anything up, you're ok....

Of course you should always install stuff from scratch if possible, so that you don't miss anything which is installed somewhere other than the addon's folder. For example, a lot of addon scenery puts an elevation 'stub' in Scenery\World\Scenery, so just copying the scenery and texture folders would result in elevation issues. Most of the problems reported to me are elevation problems, and I suspect that these are mainly caused by trying to 'reinstall' via copying a backup.
