AI flight planning issue

Postby cowpatz » Sun Aug 07, 2016 10:03 pm

I am tooling around with AI at the moment in order to "enhance the experience" as well as learn something. Well relearn actually as it has been a while and that was in FS9.
I am using AIFPV3 and seem to manage to get the program to work etc but I get some rather bizarre behavior from time to time.
The image below is the editor prior to compiling.
As you can see the flight tracks back and forth between Mt Cook and Glentanner.
For the love of god will someone please tell me why the AI concerned does not start at Mt Cook at 0735? There is plenty of parking and it will do a local flight fine from Mt Cook.
Instead it starts from Glentanner at around 0735L
There are no other flight plans using this aircraft in the system and I have checked for daylight saving issues.

Is it local time in the tool? I would think it would be zulu? But that wouldn't make much sense either from what you say.

The plans are always compiled in zulu time but the editor allows for local time entries. I have tried starting the sim one hour either side to see what happens and it is always the same with it starting in Glentanner.
I have tried other flight plans too and seem to have an issue with the AI either not appearing when it should or not at all. I also check that there is plenty of parking too.
It must be a timing issue but I'm stuffed if I can fine the problem.

Does the plane appear for the 9:30 departure, and take off from, NZMC?

I think I may have found the cause. When starting the sim the local time and UTC are different. A local time of 0800 is 2100 UTC.
The repetition timing of the plan was causing some confusion.
I cannot seem to see a way of correcting the UTC to local 1 hour difference in P3D. Any ideas?

CP - this might do the trick. Seems to be donationware, and works in P3D

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Thanks for that. Yes I have used that in FS9.
Normally it is to used to synchronise the time as it drifts in FS. I was hoping that there was some little known method of getting P3D to change the UTC offset. FS real time is just another program to have running.
