Has anyone updated Prepar3d to 3.3 yet?

I understand that some people are having trouble with legacy ground polys, which I use a lot in all my scenery, so I rushed to update prepar3d so I could test things out -- but for the life of me I can't make it misbehave. So if anyone has updated, and is having problems with flickery ground polys, please let me know. I admit I just did a Client upgrade, not the full shebang, as I'm a bit short on bandwidth this month...

Just to chime in here ...
I applied the updates pretty quickly - and then the fix(es). The way LM have split the install up into client, content etc. is great - but I just ran through the lot each time anyway. My P3D is on an SSD drive, so re-installing is all super-fast. I must say I'm amazed it can do all of this without touching any existing add-ons - be they scenery, aircraft, utilities. Incredible, really.
My overall experience with P3D has been very positive. Despite my best efforts to break it with horrifically ancient aircraft etc. it just refuses to misbehave. The whole sim is way more stable (and smoother) than my FSX ever was. I still have my FSX/DX10 an the system (separate drive though) and it's like stepping back in time each time I fire it up. Clunky as hell - but the clouds are nicer!!
To answer the original question, though - I'm not sure whether I have any scenery with "legacy ground polys" installed. I have all the NZ ORBX stuff - plus your (excellent) old Tauranga - which seems to work fine. If anyone wants to point me to some scenery with so-called "legacy polys", then I'm more than happy to give them a whirl.
Regards,
Adam.

Been using 3.35 for a couple of weeks with no problems. However, I do run Orbx global products so there is no default polys anywhere for me. I too just did the Client and Content updates. Seems you are probably good to go with what you did

Was the ground poly issue not fixed with the hotfix?

Cheers, guys. Yes, the fix did put this back the way it was, following a bit of an outcry, although developers are on notice that at some stage this will stop working for good. This will be a good thing, I guess, but it's great to have a bit of notice, rather than just have support for ground polys switched off.
All future Godzone/Real NZ releases will have separate P3D and FSX versions of ground polys, there are plenty of nice features available for P3D, think back to Che's screenshots showing reflections/lighting effects on tarmac etc.
However there are some issues for developers like me, I have mainly used GMAX from day one, and this is no longer supported for P3D, and my 3DS Max subscription is normally the first thing to go when times are tough -- which is about 10 months of the year...
Of course there is Arno's Model Conversion tool, which can deal with the conversion, albeit with a bit of extra work, so I can keep moving forward, and at some stage I hope to shift fully to 3DS Max.

A steep subscription cost for 3DS ......Blender and the convertor tool maybe a better option.

Buy the package last time I checked was around $1800US and that was a watered down version, I had a very good play with it years ago , I still have the 3DStudioMAX manual and the CAD diploma module and two other telephone book sized manuals , sure they would be outta date by now , thing was back then you could not use MAX for flightsim , but the way things have moved and costings .... someone with a current student ID could score a cheaper copy.

When my student 3ds Max trial ends I think I'm going to have to look at blender. ModelConverterX is always an option but hopefully the blender to p3d tools get developed a bit more
And Sode jetway compatible

Yeah, makes sense, I have been meaning to look at some Blender tutorials. The annoying thing is that I had my initial training in 3DS, so I'd be losing a lot of momentum. Still, might have to be done.
