Hi all
Since getting my new pc up and running the painful job of installing everything is proving frustrating
I had GEview running on the last pc but having trouble with it on the new rig.
I have done what was instructed in the read me file problem is when I click on the GEview file and select open in Google Chrome or windows explorer I keep getting the window asking me to install Google Earth plug-in which is already installed.
Anyone here have any ideas

Cheers

Rhys

I don't use IE, and avoid using Chrome. My preferred browser is PaleMoon, which started as a Firefox clone with a lot of the too-clever-by half stripped out. For well over a year I was getting trapped in that loop - apparently GE did not like either Win7x64, or the 64-bit PaleMoon, but it is something that sorted itself, on my machines.
I honestly don't know what fixed it - I just popped in now and again and then one day it was working.
The underlying cause was that Google Earth could not handle 64-bit systems. Googling on that might find a clue.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

Hi emfrat
Downloaded palemoon as suggested and GEview is now working. Google earth is installed in the 32 bit operating system of the PC along with google earth, so not sure why it would not work I guess its just one of those things. Is it possible to remove google chrome and just use google or is it all the same.

Regard

Rhys

Just found out that after the 12 of December GE view will cease to function. " Google Earth API will be turned off for good at the Google Servers December 12th of this year. ." They turned off API on chrome and only a couple of web browsers still have API but come December no more

No more Google earth ! :o , what about all this street mapping and address finding ? surely must be trillions that use it so are they going to replace it with another similar setup ?

Well, there is the Satellite view in Gurgle Maps - but what about FSX AI shipping, which needs kml files and tracks from GE?

Then again, maybe my fearless prediction of a decade or so back is coming true. That was the one about FS being fully integrated with a new product called 'Google Earth Live', but the price of a small Kray would need to drop a bit

Google Earth will still be going strong, the API is the bit which allows people to embed maps in web pages, and develop map applications for the web. So yeah, it'll affect a lot of sim tools.

That is good to know , I don't use it for the sim mode .
