FSX has crashed

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Having little recent experience I have been trying to install addon aircraft and in so doing I have crashed my FSX. When I now load up my Cessna 172 there is no engine as previously.
Also, on other aircraft I have only black panels. I don't quite know what I have inadvertently removed or changed to cause these problems. Will I have to do a complete reinstall of FSX/VLC?.

For a starter, goto "Your Computer" - goto "AppData/roaming" - in that folder goto "Microsoft" and in that folder go down to FSX , delete the ' fsx.CFG' file .

Now restart FSX and that will build a new configuration file and sort the little hick-up out .

Thanks Ian, I had in the back of my mind something about the .cfg file but needed someone like yourself to confirm it. Back to my FS learning and see what else I can wreck. Cheers.

I wouldn't have these issues either if I could just leave things alone, but unfortunately I like to experiment. Like you, I am grateful for people like Ian who assist.
