Posted: Tue Dec 31, 2013 4:17 pmIf you're aren't in a hurry and don't mind a non-mainstream brand , you might want to consider Catleap. I've heard some very good things about these monitors. I think they're Korean. They certainly seem good value.
The only problem is that I haven't seen them in NZ. You can certainly get them on ebay, but then you're going to have to pay for shipping (not mention the wait).

And a bit of free advice: always use the connector cable that came with the monitor - I just spent a happy hour trying to fix the dreadful screen fonts before I discovered that small but important fact!
Of course I gave it a whirl in the flighstsim at 2560x1080... here's a straight screen:
It makes complete rubbish of 2D panels, gauges look like bananas, but adds a lot of real estate to the spotview.

Posted: Tue Dec 31, 2013 5:07 pmI'm sure i could .. well least have the room for that , really i'm waiting for the wrap around screen, now that would keep all cockpit designers really happy ... they cannot be to far away, but for a huge cost.

My "real " FS monitor is 1900x1280, and I find that a tolerable compromise between wide view and not totally messing up 2D gauges.

That's how i learning my Ianglish ... steering out the window rather than learning itRiccarton High School had them closeup on many days.
